ARIZONA-PHOENIX
Phoenix is a golf lover's paradise, whether you are
a spectator, participant or a little of both. With
year-round sunny skies, you never have to lose a day
or two of planning on your golf vacation due to
inclement weather. Numbering over 325 golf courses
and counting, Arizona has a tee time and a skill
level for everyone. Several of the state's courses
are included in Golf Digest's list of America's
greatest 100 Golf Courses and 15 holes are on its
list of the top 500 in the world. The PGA and LPGA
each hold two tournaments in the state; the most
popular, the FBR Open (formerly the Phoenix Open),
draws over 400,000 spectators a year.Phoenix 's
golf courses are as diverse and spectacular as its
landscape and you can always find one with good tee
times and within your budget, but planning ahead is
always recommended.
“We had a great weekend….hockey, football and golf!
Arizona is such a fantastic place to go. We’ve
played
the Phoenix area for 6 years now and will travel
to Tucson in the spring. Thanks to Merit for keeping
us up to date on the course overseeding schedule
each fall.”
Martin Vanderbooke - Aurora
**Note: From
Mid-September to early November every year, the golf
courses in this State will undergo a process called
overseeding. This program may take up to a month to
complete it's cycle meaning course selection will be
limited and course quality may also be diminished.
Merit Golf Vacations monitors the schedule very
closely to make sure the courses in your golf
package are not affected. |
